Services Overview
Opportunity Village's strength lies in its great diversity of services. This allows us to offer the best supports to meet an individual's needs.
We serve persons of all ages and many types of disabilities. Working with the individual, their family, and their home county, Village staff set up an appropriate level of support. That might include Supported Community Living, respite care, or 24-hour active treatment. It also might involve social and therapeutic day activities, job readiness training, vocational training, or job placement.
Our emphasis is on "person-centered planning," which means the individual's wants and needs are taken into account at all stages. We use the catchphrase "Nothing About Me Without Me" to remind us to involve the person in decision-making as much as possible. We strive to provide the most independence possible for every person served.
Village services are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Services (
CARF). We are licensed by the Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals and meet all Department of Human Services requirements.
