Sometimes a specific opportunity will pop up for just the right volunteer at Opportunity Village.  Keep an eye on this page for ideas that might sound perfect for you.

  • Helping at Festival of Trees
Help out with this popular community event for families on Dec. 3, 4, and 5, 2010!  We need volunteers to put on this terrific weekend of activities, everything from serving food, selling trees, assisting with children's crafts or the Secret Shop, and more.  Lots of positions, lots of time slots, so give us a call and we'll find the perfect spot for you.

  • Whisper Glide Operator
No pay - lots of satisfaction and smiles!
Have a few minutes available after supper or on the weekend?  Assist an individual in a wheelchair to ride on the Whisper Glide swing on the plaza.  Training available.  Great family project!

  • Friends in Community
Friendly, socially outgoing woman who likes to crochet would like help in making scarves and blankets and to go out for coffee once in a while.  Looking to find a friend with similar interests who could meet at least twice a month.

Pleasant senior woman who enjoys latch hook, activity books, education, jewelry, and shopping.  Would like to find a friend who enjoys visiting and going on outings.

Looking for additional persons willing to help drive truck and pick up donations.  Lifting is required.  Become part of an on-call list.

  • Organizer, Village General Store
Only have an hour or two here and there?  Help keep the General Stores in Clear Lake and Fort Dodge looking great.  Volunteer on a "drop-in" basis and help organize the clothing racks by color.  This is a great opportunity for a small group of friends or family that wants to volunteer together.
