We Care

"No one cares about how much you know
until they know how much you care."

People often tell us that what impresses them most about Opportunity Village is how much we care.  They can see it when they step in the door of our activity center and find people happily engaged in meaningful work.  They see it in the way our employees assist someone at the grocery store or the doctor's office.

It's not just a warm feeling; it's a call to action.  We show we care by taking action to change lives. Caring isn't simply the job of our Direct Support Professionals; it is the expectation of everyone associated with the Village.  "We" includes you!  You are in on this act of caring.  You and I and a host of others make up this Village, demonstrating how much we care through our actions.

We demonstrate that we care when we provide respite for a mother who feels stretched thin from parenting her child who has a behavior disorder.  We care when we find a job for someone with a disability.  We care when we fight to offer affordable health insurance to our employees, when many other businesses are dropping this benefit.  We care when we place a volunteer looking for something worthwhile to fill a void in his life.  We care about so many people in so many ways.  Perhaps you've seen for yourself a demonstration of how the Village cares.

Whether you help us out by sending a donation or offering to volunteer or simply telling someone about the Village, what you're really doing is showing us you care, too.

With care,
