Watts receives Golden Heart Award

Heather Watts received Opportunity Village's Golden Heart Award in October.
The Golden Heart Award recognizes people served by the Village who demonstrate the qualities of Competence, Community Involvement, Courtesy, and Courage.
Heather, 34, moved to the Village in 1998 and currently lives in Bedrock Cottage. She holds several jobs around the Village, including working in the kitchen, at the Garner Work Center, and in Green Production.
According to those who nominated her for the award, Heather knows her jobs and takes pride in her work. She enjoys helping out others, and will take on any new challenge. "Involved, helpful, fun," said one nominator, while another said, "She brings a smile to your face with her infectious giggle. She tries her best with everything she does."
The Golden Heart Award is given out twice a year. Previous recipients include Jeff "Bucky" Jondal, Webster City; Louise Dvorak, Eagle Grove; and Shawn Williamson, Carl Kalvig, Kurt Kehrli, Jack Hughes, Brian Anderson, Camilla Hackett, Terry Richey, and Crystal Harper, all of Clear Lake. Nominations are accepted from people served by the Village, staff, community members such as employers or clergy, families, county case managers, or volunteers.
