Dixie Lundquist, Clear Lake, received the Tom Thornblade Award from Opportunity Village for outstanding job performance in support of people with disabilities.
Lundquist, who has worked as a Personal Assistant at Wildwood Cottage for two years, has a "servant heart," according to fellow staff who nominated her for the award. "She maintains a positive attitude, even when stress levels are high. She always looks for the good in every situation and finds something valuable to learn from it."

Her nominators said Lundquist has developed trusting relationships with people served at the Village, enabling her to relate to their daily needs and concerns. "She strives to ensure they are encouraged and supported."
Opportunity Village awards seven Thornblade Awards during the year to staff members who exemplify the caring and dedication demonstrated by the late Tom Thornblade, a longtime employee. The award is made possible with a gift from Mr. & Mrs. Martin Koldyke.
